What motivates you to get to the gym?
My son is my true inspiration. I must add, however, that I love working out with Nick. He is extremely knowledgeable about health and fitness and always encourages me to do my best. All the staff is great. This reason alone makes it easy to get to a gym that provides a warm familial environment.
Why did you choose to start a fitness lifestyles?
I was suffering from severe back problems, along with a few other health issues. I tried lots of other “easier” remedies, but to no avail. My orthopedist suggested I try a few weeks of physical therapy. I knew I needed a longer term fitness plan if I was going to see any results. Working out consistently and focusing on strengthening my core muscles has helped immensely.
What is your biggest struggle when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle?
My biggest struggle would probably be my love of wine! It is hard to resist the temptation of good wine, bread and cheese.
What advise would you give to someone having trouble getting to the gym?
I would suggest that they put themselves into autopilot mode. Don’t think about it much, just get to the gym and do it. There was a time when I found working out to be a chore, but I don’t anymore. It is absolutely part of my life now. I feel guilty if I were to miss a session.
What’s your favorite healthy meal? And naughty meal?
I am fortunate to really like my chicken & veggies. But, I also love pizza!!
How has your life changed since you started working out?
My life has changed from working out by not only making my aches and pains diminish, but I also feel more alive. I am more energized and am thrilled to be wearing smaller clothes again!!
If you were a car, what kind of car would you be?
I would be my ’91 BMW. Classic, reliable and still zippy!
Least favorite exercise?
Reverse lunges…I suck at balance. But, I’m working on that too!
